The brand new Framura 3, the first Codecasa 50s hull, was commissioned by the same company that previously ordered the construction of Framura 2, the first Codecasa 45s hull, from Cantieri Navali Codecasa. The latter was launched and delivered in summer 2010 and bore construction number F72.

By a happy coincidence, with timing that augurs well, it was also in June that Framura 3, construction number C120, began life, taking to the water at Codecasa’s new Darsena dei Navicelli production site in Pisa, in the presence of representatives of its owner company and selected guests.
This most recent masterpiece by the prestigious Italian shipyard began its glittering career as an exclusive luxury motor yacht after delivery in July.
From a purely statistical and chronological point of view, Framura 3 is the first 50-m open yacht by Cantieri Navali Codecasa, and it is also the current flagship of the Sport Codecasa line which includes all the previous models in increasing lengths from the Codecasa 35s to the Codecasa 41s and the Codecasa 45s.
From an aesthetic and technical perspective, the new motor yacht is an excellent cutting edge synthesis of high performance and maximum comfort.
Here it is worth underlining that in order to optimise comfort on board, as with its predecessor Codecasa 45s, Codecasa 50s also uses the tried and tested Ship Dynamics stabilisation system with interior gyroscopic stabilisers, devised and produced by the Australian specialists.
The main dimensional and technical data
5083 H 321/111 light aluminium alloy was used for the construction of both the hull and the superstructure of Framura 3. The yacht was built to meet the classification standards of the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) – A1 Yachting Service and AMS – and to comply with the Maltese Commercial Yacht Code for Short Range Navigation. The yacht has a length overall of 49.90 metres, or 163 feet 9 inches, and a beam overall of 9.20 metres, or 30 feet 2 inches.
Under full load, the hull’s maximum draught is 1.75 metres, or 5 feet 9 inches, while the vessel’s lightship displacement is 220 tonnes and its full load displacement is 270 tonnes. The engine room contains three MTU 16V 2000 M94 engines, each supplying maximum power of 1,939 kW / 2,600 HP at 2,450 rpm.
These are coupled to the propulsion system consisting of KaMeWa hydrojets by Rolls- Royce, featuring one 71 B III booster unit and two 80 S III steerable units.
In terms of performance at sea, with light displacement the yacht has a top speed of 26 knots with peaks of 28 knots, and can maintain a cruising speed of 18 knots. At cruising speed, the yacht’s range is 1,000 nautical miles.
On board the yacht, the built-in fuel tanks have a total capacity of 45,000 litres, equivalent to 11,905 US gallons, while the fresh water tanks have a total capacity of 5,000 litres, equivalent to 1,325 US gallons.
A general overview of the new motor yacht
Flawlessly built by Cantieri Navali Codecasa using the most advanced technologies, Framura 3 is based on the Codecasa 50s design developed by Andrea Bacigalupo, who designed both the hull lines and the external lines of the superstructure.
The latter’s sculpted shapes have a solid, compact appearance, yet one that is also sporty, sleek and aggressive.
The overall look of the new yacht is imposing but balanced, with an indisputable elegance highlighted by the two-tone colour scheme of the paintwork, with the hull in classic deep blue and the superstructure in dazzling metallic silver.
The interior layout of the new motor yacht accommodates up to 12 passengers in one Owner’s stateroom, one VIP stateroom and four guest staterooms, as well as up to nine crew in one captain’s cabin and four crew cabins.
On the bridge deck, a relaxation area has been created outside and forward, featuring a sunbathing area with sun pads and an open air lounge area with chairs and small tables that can be shaded by a disappearing awning.
