Imagination yacht

by Benetti Yachts, Stefano Natucci and Franois Zuretti

Benetti has been a well-established player on the yacht building market since 1873 and is a great example of Italian excellence in the most exclusive segment of the luxury yachting sector. For proof of this one need look no further than its creations, which are nothing less than masterpieces. Benetti Yachts is a contemporary symbol of technical expertise and aesthetic elegance. The yard works constantly on perfecting planning and construction techniques, as well as developing stylistic qualities. Benetti has built and launched more than a hundred yachts in the last decade, a remarkable result in terms of both quantity and quality, making it an international leader in the creation of prestigious luxury motor yachts. Benetti yachts are custom designed and built for their owners, and stand out for their incredible cultural and financial value, which holds up over the course of time. Yet Benetti Yachts remains true to its original spirit of design innovation, and continues to expand and diversify its range in order to meet the needs of expert yacht owners the world over. At the recent boat shows held last autumn, Benetti Yachts once again managed to wow its international audience by presenting the new series: the Benetti Class Range. This fully replaces the previous production range, created with a system of construction in GRP composite.
Not only does it use the same construction material but, like the previous range, the increase in maximum dimensions, which now reach 50 metres, and above all, the increase in the number of models, of which there are now seven and not four. So, in addition to an “entry level” model measuring under 30 m/100 ft, and named Delfino 90′ (in homage to the historic model built by Benetti between 1962 and 1969), the range comprises six models measuring over 30 metres: the Tradition 105′, the Classic 121′, the Classic Supreme 131′, the Crystal 140′, the Vision 145′ and the Vision Supreme 164′. With streamlined exteriors and classic/contemporary styling, the yachts in the new Benetti Class Range offer innovative solutions for the interior layouts, and completely original terraces overlooking the sea; they also have advanced management and monitoring systems such as the “Integrated Dashboard” and the fully tested BEST system (Best Exclusive Sea Technology), both developed in-house by Benetti. Moreover, for the new Class Range, the Italian yard has included an advanced hybrid propulsion system called DEHPS (Diesel Electric Hybrid Propulsion System), which will be available for all seven models in the new range. However, the Class Range is not the only news to come out of the Benetti yard: the current metal custom range FB Benetti is being expanded with two new lines of yachts, both with concept design and exterior design by Stefano Natucci (as for the existing FB Line). These two new lines, announced at the autumn 2008 boat shows, were officially presented at the boat shows in autumn 2009: one is the Benetti Sensation 52 Line measuring 171′, built in steel and aluminium with a displacement hull, the first unit of which is scheduled to be launched in the course of next year. The other is the semi-displacement 154′ Benetti Imagination 47 Line made entirely from aluminium; the first unit from this line will be launched this year. As she awaits her official debut during fall. Yacht Premire is pleased to present special preview of this remarkable craft in this issue.
