The current fleet of renowned brand Admiral, now part of The Italian Sea Group along with the equally famous Tecnomar, is an extraordinary group of vessels with numerous models all built entirely in aluminium and steel. The range of motor yachts built entirely in aluminium currently comprises three different lines: Regale, a genuinely classic brand with a planing hull, offered in five models with lengths from 33 to 45 metres; E Motion, a rule-breaker with a semi-displacement hull, available in two models with lengths of 52 and 55 metres; and Impero, a worldwide award-winner with a semi-displacement hull, in three models with lengths from 37 to 45 metres. The Impero line is also offered in a steel and aluminium version with a displacement hull, in five models with lengths from 35 to 60 metres. Joining this line in the range of steel and aluminium motor yachts, all with displacement hulls, there are a further four lines: Maxima, a traditional elegance boat available in two models with lengths of 37 and 47 metres; X Lence, a trendy, refined explorer vessel, available to date in three models with lengths from 47 to 65 metres; C Force, an imposing status symbol flagship, deployed on the water in four models with lengths from 50 to 75 metres; and finally Momentum, a recent new arrival drawing inspiration from historic styles, which is presented by the Italian shipyard in three models with lengths of 47, 60 and 85 metres. This last is such a new arrival that as this issue of our quarterly magazine goes to press, the shipyard has only released a few short notes on the new concept and a summary of the main technical and dimensional data. These are also accompanied by the general layout for the four decks and a limited series of renders showing the yacht’s exterior and the interiors devised for one of the design proposals during the preparatory phase. Based on naval architecture and engineering by the Admiral Technical Centre, the concept for the new vessel was developed by the Admiral Style Centre working with Gian Marco Campanino. As the renders we present here clearly show, the core inspiration for the design lies in the elegant, unmistakable style of the wonderful yachts and magnificent transatlantic vessels in vogue in the 1930s and 1940s. Starting from this nostalgic vein of inspiration, full of aesthetic admiration for these masterpieces from a glorious, now-legendary past, the team of designers accomplished a stylistic evolution to achieve an innovative concept for a modern super yacht. It is an idea that skilfully transforms the historic blueprints that served as a reference, updating them and ably generating an aesthetically new shape that, although it is consistent with the archetypal models, fully represents a contemporary stylistic expression that is completely valid today. All of this has been done without indulging in theoretical formal exercises or opting for arbitrary compositional paradigms or abstract stylistic rules. Instead, we find the greatest possible cleanness of line that consistently eschews abstruse, complicated geometries in favour of generating simple yet elegantly sophisticated lines that express the new ideals of aesthetic purity in a balanced, harmonious way. As with the exteriors, this constant search for beauty on the part of the designers also spills over into the interiors to create a serene, light, pleasant and enchanting atmosphere. As a result, the interiors are inspired by an understated but solid luxury, devoid of futile exhibitionism, expressing an exclusivity and refinement that are generated in part here by a style of composition entirely built on the simplicity of line in the construction drawing as well as on the clean intentionality of the design concept. The spaces throughout are extremely extensive, created to be similar to those of a large villa by the sea, with floor-to-ceiling windows making it possible to enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding environment and offering an amazing feeling of complete visual and physical continuity between the exterior and the interior. The layout proposed for the new concept by the Italian shipyard is distributed across four decks. On the sun deck, there is a sunbathing area with sun pads to aft, a versatile area for lounging and alfresco dining amidships, covered by a hard top with adjustable sun awnings, and forward there is a bar area and a sunbathing area with sun pads arranged around a raised swimming pool. On the bridge deck, a relaxation area is laid out with chairs and coffee tables to aft in the uncovered section of the deck, with tables and chairs in the section protected by the overhang from the deck above. Inside, the sky lounge is effectively subdivided into two different sections: an area for conversation with a television, sofa and pouffes, located to starboard, with a gaming area to portside laid out with chairs and tables.
Amidships, there is a foyer with a day head and upper pantry, while forward, the radio room is positioned next to the captain’s cabin, which has a double bed, wardrobe and bathroom with a separate shower cubicle. The wheelhouse is located next to this, with a sofa for guests to observe navigation and two pilot’s chairs in front of the instrumentation panel. Outside and forward, there is a relaxation area with chairs and coffee tables, as well as a sunbathing area with sun pads, and below this a covered garage to store the rescue and service tender. On the main deck, the upper section of the beach club is located to aft, with sofas and chairs. Inside, the saloon has been physically subdivided into two sections with a vertical screen partition between them: the living area is fitted out with sofas arranged around coffee tables, while the dining area has a dining table and chairs. The foyer with a day head, the main pantry and the galley are located amidships, while the owner’s suite has a forward position, including a fully equipped gym and a shower with sauna, a walk-in wardrobe, an en suite bathroom with a separate shower cubicle and finally the master stateroom with double bed, dressing table, sofa and chaise longue. On the lower deck, the lower section of the beach club is located in the stern, directly beside the swimming platform, featuring a relaxation area with chaises longues, a bar area and a fully equipped gym with a shower, sauna and day head. The yacht’s aft section also includes an enclosed garage for storing the main tender, and alongside it the engine room and the engineer’s control room. The guest quarters are located amidships, comprising two staterooms each with a double bed and two staterooms each with a double bed and a single bed; all four guest staterooms have a dressing table, a wardrobe and an en suite bathroom with separate shower cubicle. Finally, the crew quarters are located in the prow, with a crew galley and crew mess, storage room, laundry room, and three crew cabins each with two bunk beds, a wardrobe and a bathroom with shower.
