Perle Noire

In June last year, Heesen Yachts delivered Perle Noire, the ninth in the successful Heesen 37-metre all aluminium line, 122’ in length. Since it was first introduced in 2004, the Heesen 37-metre line has done extremely well and continues to do so, with the tenth exemplar currently in the final production phases prior to delivery in summer this year.

The secret to its success is the exclusive combination of high quality and high speed, strategically linked to the size of the motor yacht, which is big enough to allow for demanding long-range cruises and stays on board lasting several weeks, while being compact enough for quick short-range cruises and short one-day excursions.
In addition, it must be emphasised that the Heesen 37-metre line is custom-built in aluminium, unlike other vessels in this size class, which are primarily built using fibreglass composite and are normally produced in series or semi-series.
With these qualities, it is not just aesthetics that makes Perle Noire particularly distinctive, but more specifically and more importantly the fact that it is a representative, contemporary application of engineering: true architecture of performance.
The vessel’s design is one that Heesen Yachts has developed in over more than 30 years’ experience in custom aluminium construction, complying with rigorous tolerances in the build and optimising the hull shape for performance, while combining a complete focus on reducing weight with meticulous attention to the superior quality of the finish. For these reasons, Perle Noire is the perfect synthesis of Heesen’s philosophy: stunning beauty, exclusive luxury and advanced engineering. From a technical point of view, Perle Noire, which has yard number 14537, is based on naval architecture developed by Heesen Yachts.
The vessel has a hard chine semi-displacement hull in aluminium, like the superstructure. In terms of size, Perle Noire has a total length of 37.30 metres, equivalent to 122 feet 4 inches, and a total beam of 7.50 metres, equivalent to 24 feet 7 inches. The vessel’s displacement is 150 tonnes, or 331,126 pounds, while its gross tonnage is 245 GT. Perle Noire’s engine room contains two MTU V16 4000 M90 engines, each with maximum power of 3,648 HP, equivalent to 2,720 kW.
In terms of performance, under light load, Perle Noire has a top speed of 31 knots. Sailing at the economy cruising speed of 12 knots, the yacht has a range of 2,000 nautical miles. This is also thanks to the fuel tanks, which have a capacity of 30,000 litres, equivalent to 7,936,000 US gallons.
From a functional perspective, in spite of its highly sporty, attractive external appearance, Perle Noire has large internal spaces that are surprisingly generous for a motor yacht of this length. Its interior layout accommodates up to 10 passengers in four guest staterooms and one Owner’s suite. The Owner’s suite is located forward on the main deck, while the four guest cabins – three of which are doubles and one a twin-bunked children’s cabin – are all located on the lower deck. The wheelhouse on the mezzanine deck has a sofa bed as a practical solution that is particularly useful on long voyages.
On board the vessel, the Owner and guests have three alternative al fresco social areas at their disposal: the partially sheltered aft cockpit, the sundeck with its comfortable seating area and convivial bar located forward next to the spa pool, and the sunbathing area with sunpads in front of the wheelhouse.
