Sunday

by Benetti Shipyard, Stefano Natucci and Studio Ipso

Yachting beneath the splendid Mediterranean sun, slipping gracefully over the waves with her marvellous decks designed for cruising in absolute privacy, Sunday is a vision of pure paradise that navigates the waters of mythology between the Ionian and Aegean islands, heralding her arrival in coastal ports with five horns, each with a different tone, created just for her. In every detail, a Benetti ship manifests top-notch technical characteristics and at the same time the apex of exclusive luxury and aesthetics. Italian excellence and distinctive style.

The Sunday concept
Sunday is a superb masterpiece created by Benetti shipyards for a Greek ship owner, conceived as the evolution of two sister ships – the 56-metre Galaxy and 56-metre Allegro – both of which were delivered in 2005. This new ship has practically maintained the same structure and analogous overall layout as her two forerunners, but was created with a hull that is two metres longer at the waterline under average load, equivalent to more than two-and-a-half metres overall length distributed over the midship and bow sections. Thanks to this lengthening, her profile acquires a more elegantly streamlined beauty, while the onboard spaces are larger and more comfortable. This new ship flaunts a blue hull inspired by another Benetti yacht, the 52-metre Alfa delivered in 2001 to another Greek owner who was evidently fond of the deep blue of Greek seas. In any case, this slender elegance certainly flatters Sunday. A series of further modifications regards the dimension and the shape of the archway that supports the antennae, as well as the introduction of the bridge wings, and a different layout for the sun deck. Sunday is a superb displacement mega yacht with a steel hull and aluminium superstructures, designed to host ten guests and two Owners with a crew of 16. Her naval architecture is by Benetti shipyards, her exterior styling and concept are by Stefano Natucci, her interior design is by Sophocle Emmanouilidis of Studio Ipso, who also created the interior furnishings and decor for Sunday in active collaboration with the Owner’s wife, a design enthusiast and expert collector of modern art. It is thanks to her early intervention during the design and construction phases that Sunday is now graced by a signature design reflecting a creative flair that evokes a gratifying calm and serenity, exalted by a delightful cosiness that is expressed in the details and personal choices dedicated to family and friends, giving this yacht a truly special personality. The modern, aerodynamic style of its external profile manifests power and transmits the sensation of imposing confidence, with strong, clean lines that emphasise its rare elegance. The deep blue dramatically streamlines the hull and the bright white superstructures express dynamic linearity. At first glance, the glossy smooth surfaces of Sunday reflect the richness of her soul and her overwhelming charisma, turning heads wherever she passes. The absolute elegance and refined luxury of the interiors enfolds the Owners and their guests in a modern and original atmosphere created in an unusually bright Art Deco style, clearly inspired by the fabulous liners of yesteryear, the legendary protagonists of the golden age of Atlantic Ocean crossings. Sunday’s furnishings and décor make her truly unique, manifesting exquisite taste with refined details totally lacking in ostentation. The Owner and his wife conceived of Sunday with distinctively formal characteristics, as can be perceived in the exclusiveness of the interiors, whose furnishing and sophisticated decorations have been carefully analysed. However, her atmosphere on board also evokes a pleasantly familiar atmosphere that gives an overall sense of well-being to family members and their guests. A family-style yacht intended for cruising in absolute relaxation and comfort, a craft that transforms free time into a leisurely yet adventurous voyage to understated luxury. Sunday has interiors decorated with exceptional accuracy in the details and materials, with discerning combinations and magnificent inlays: precious maple and shining stainless steel with rare white onyx, splendid leathers and ornate gold leaf with sparkling crystal and mother-of-pearl highlights, luscious, elaborate fabrics with deep, plush carpeting. The works of art from the Owner’s private collection give these interiors an extraordinary sense of creativity, with paintings and sculptures that enhance the décor and furnishings, creating a relaxing atmosphere without taking away from luxury and refined elegance.
